About Darren
Darren has been playing golf since he was 2 years old, joining a golf club at 11, and getting his first handicap of 32. Since then he has worked to always improve and find ways to enjoy the game. Below is some information about his journey.
On The Course
Darren has had many successes on the golf course, the highlight being representing England as an International in 2013. Since turning Professional at the end of 2013, he has continued to both play and coach. Each year Darren still competes in roughly 30 events across the UK trying to add more silverware to his trophy cabinet.
Coaching Philosophy
Darren believes that with the right coaching, every player can improve. Be it complete beginner, or seasoned veteran, once the areas of improvement have been identified, improvements can be made. Darren likes to use video analysis to provide evidenced based coaching. Darren believes most faults in golf come through poor or incomplete knowledge, once a player knows what they need to do, they are more likely to do it!
Off The Course
Off the course Darren enjoys many other sports including Skiing, Surfing and going to the gym. For his sins his football club is Charlton Athletic and he can often be found down The Valley. Away from sport his passion is live music and frequently attends gigs all over the globe.
